On the 19th september at The Monty in Brighton, we celebrated the release of our debut album 'This is Now' We booked Jason Barker to open the night with a solo acoustic set, as well as having great original material to perform he kept it upbeat, fun and full of personality. With DJ sets from Mick Robinson and Tommy Pockets, people had a great selection of songs to dance, drink, fight or fuck to before and after we performed. When we went on we were welcomed by a room full of excited and drunk people, this always makes us feel loved and appreciated. We played the full album and a couple of songs that did not make it on to the album (down to recording funds and lack of organisation on Dirt Royals part), also new songs and we threw in covers such as 'You cant hurry love' and 'Do you love me' which we invited people up to help remind us of the lyrics. We also played Career opportunities when requested one more by a couple of Royals at the front. The Night definitely turned out to be one of our best gigs yet, so we would like to thank Mick, Tommy and Jason for performing along side us and doing a great job and to everyone who bought our album, Mick for booking us, Jimmy for taking the photos and of course everyone who attending and created the great atmosphere. Check our gigs section for upcoming tour dates.
